The biggest ever summit on Ayurveda will get underway on February 20, 2014 at Kochi. The Global Ayurveda Festival & Arogya Expo (GAF) will enter its second edition with the event set to begin on February 20, 2014. GAF 2014, will be a five-day event, and will begin on February 20, and run till February 24.
To be organized by the Centre for Innovation in Science & Social Action (CISSA), in association with the Government of Kerala and the Ayurveda fraternity of Kerala, the theme for this edition of GAF will focus on Ayurveda in Public Health. CISSA has lined up the theme to focus on the strengths of Ayurveda in public health, in the context of the growing burden of new age communicable diseases.
Though the potential of Ayurveda in Public Health is huge, it has unfortunately not been tapped to full potential till date. In this context, the central theme of Ayurveda in Public Health will be one major aspect of deliberations at GAF 2014.
The biennial event will bring together all stakeholders in the Ayurveda scenario so as to take forward significant approaches in keeping the traditional form of healthcare alive and making it even more popular.
The second edition of GAF will be a bigger event this time around, and will have a host of activities displaying the grandeur of Ayurveda. The high profile programs will include an international seminar, which would be an international academic platform for exchanging clinical experiences and broadening academic horizons.
This apart, a mega exhibition that would provide an insight into the living tradition of Ayurveda, a host of workshops, practical demonstrations, scientific and business programs and more, would be part of the five-day GAF 2014.
GAF 2014 will also facilitate active interaction between the global Ayurveda community, students, paramedics, medicinal plant cultivators, traders, patient groups and the general public.
Besides the International Seminar themed Ayurveda in Public Health, and the Arogya Expo, GAF 2014 would get on to the podium over the five-day period with Ayurveda Solidarity Meets, Cultural Meet, Political Leaders’ Meet, Media Meet, International Business Meet, International Cooperation Meet, Ayurveda Education Expo, Medicinal Plants Expo, AYUSH Clinics, Pre Conference Workshops, Netrachikitsa and Panchakarma offerings.
