RENERGY 2013 Begins; Envisions Taking Indian Renewable Energy to Next Orbit

RENERGY 2013, one of India’s most acclaimed renewable energy events, got kickstarted at the Chennai Trade Centre (CTC). The three day expo-cum-conference is organized by TEDA and supported by MNRE, as part of Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa’s vision to make Tamil Nadu a world leader in renewable energy.

The key objective behind RENERGY 2013 is to be a critical platform to take renewable energy growth in India to the next orbit, through awareness creation, practical demonstration and productive interactions between various renewable energy stakeholders. The sectors represented in RENERGY 2013 include solar, wind, biomass power, energy efficiency, waste-to-energy and green buildings.

RENERGY 2013 comprises a conference and an exhibition. This is India’s largest gathering of renewable energy professionals, with an estimated 2000 professionals attending the conference during the three days. The exhibition has participation from over 200 companies across the entire renewable energy spectrum. This year, over 200 experts comprising CEOs, technical experts, top regulators and policy makers will be present at the event.

The RENERGY 2013 conference comprises expert panel discussions on solar power, wind, bio-energy, green buildings and energy efficiency. For the first time in any renewable energy conference in India, this year the RENERGY conference will comprise 8 workshops, including 6 on solar, conducted by global leaders. Other interesting sessions in the conference include a workshop conducted by MNRE on grid connected solar rooftops, and a session on international clean-tech collaborations.

RENERGY 2013 Exhibition, one of the largest renewable energy expos in the country, is spread over an area of 3000, with over 200 stalls. 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the expo over three days.

The event will also see the formal launch of the Indian Wind Independent Power Producers Association (WIPPA). Top management from over a dozen top wind power developer firms will be present at the event and during the launch.

RENERGY 2012 was a tremendous success last year, and RENERGY 2013 promises to be an even bigger success, with the potential to make a significant difference to the country’s renewable energy eco-systems.

Some of the key sponsors for RENERGY 2013 include SunEdison, Refex Energy, SWELECT, L&T, Moser Baer and Aeon. The event is supported by MNRE and a number of trade commissions and prominent associations.
