It’s always wonderful to look at the battle of brands in the world of automobiles. Healthy competition between them pushes out many amazing technologies to the front. That’s been the case all through.
Of late, the grapevine has it that Lexus is on its way to develop a basic level GS hybrid model. Lexus probably need to get back to the market with an entry-level GS hybrid to battle the BMW’s 520d Efficient Dynamics and Audi’s A6 2.0 TDI.
But we don’t have confirmed news on this. Recently, Lexus GS deputy chief engineer Koji Sato had been quoted as saying that the company was working on a number of solutions to offer low CO2 emissions, and that they included a small hybrid.
That in fact came as a hint. Looking deeper into his words, we have reasons tobelieve that there could be some truth in the speculations.
We hear that the model would in all likelihood be called GS 300h and will employ a hybridized 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine from the Lexus ES 300h and Toyota Camry Hybrid.
Hopefully, we might get to know more as the Paris Motor Show is just round the bend.
