Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display is Ultimately Eco-friendly

Well, good news for Apple fans! Tech giant Apple has unveiled their all new MacBook Pro with Retina display. This new MacBook is highly recyclable and meets Energy Star 5.2 regulations. Like other Apple products, it is also arsenic-free, BFR-free, PVC-free and includes mercury-free glass.

The company claims that this laptop will produce a total of 710 kg of carbon dioxide emissions over its lifetime.

About 73% of its CO2 emissions come from the production process and the customer use is responsible for the 21% of emissions. While for the remaining 6 percent is due to the transportation and recycling process.

The main advantage of the new MacBook Pro is its Retina Display. The laptop is lighter with only 4.46 pounds. The company is planning to use less packaging to ship the product.

And its smaller size makes the packaging more efficient than previous MacBook Pro models. This will allow up to 84 percent more MacBook Pros to be packed into each shipping container.

The base model is available at $2,199 which is $400 higher than the entry level 15-inch MacBook Pro and for the upgraded better-equipped model you must spend at least $2,799.
