Leona Lewis Sings Out in Support of Abused Animals This Easter

Apart from a singing career, Leona Lewis is now lending her sweet voice for the animals. This Sunday saw her attending the Easter Fair at the Brentwood Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in England. At that event she sang in support of the charity which raised money for sick and ill treated animals.

Leona is already a trustee and patron for the animal organization Hopefield, an NGO that strives to protect abused and neglected animals. Hopefield makes sure that the animals live peacefully without being subjected to any abuse.

In a mission statement, the singer proclaimed that ever since her first visit to the sanctuary, she has considered it as a part of her life. Her aim at Hopefield would be to ensure that the animals there can continue their life in comfort and safety. She hopes to build Hopefield a sanctuary which would educate people on animal welfare and save more animals in need.

This is not the first time the singer has raised her voice for the animals. She is a devoted supporter for animals and organizations, and  the 27 year old singer sent a Valentine’s Card to the European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy John Dali requesting support for the Humane Society International’s Cruelty Free2013 initiative against animal testing.

We hope she will not stop her attempts to save the Earth’s most loved creatures from cruelty and abuse.
