EV freaks, we have an amazing concept to show you. Born in the mind of Juha-Pekka Rautio, the Citreon CCrab is a vehicle that can maneuver its way out of the toughest of traffic snarls! Not convinced? The Citreon CCrab is designed in such a way that it can zip around efficiently in urban traffic. The maker has ensured that the tiny concept is able to move sideways with individually powered wheels that run independently. The CCrab has a unique crab like design.
Part of the Citreon program, the initiative had designers work closely with the automaker to help create a new design language for electric vehicles. Juha-Pekka Rautio received feedback on designs and had prototypes wind funnel tested too.
The Citreon CCrab is still in the concept stage, but aims to create an electric vehicle that can be driven easily through the heavy city traffic. Designed as a three seater EV, it can dribble through traffic like a soccer pro.
If at all the Citreon CCrab gets into production, EV enthusiasts can hope to see its excellent performance while driving through city traffic.
Though it has been pointed out that the wheels would be capable of turning independently so as to control the movement of the car to sidle out of the traffic, there is – as yet – no explanation from the side of Juha-Pekka Rautio on how the wheels will be able to do so.
Let’s hope that at some point of future this Citreon CCrab becomes a reality. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, here re more pictures of the concept EV.
