It’s the age of electric cars and we get to see more and more battery powered vehicles being unwrapped every passing day. Some are already on the roads, while many others are revving up to hit the tarmac. In the midst of all that, how about hoping for an electric Ferrari?
Don’t! That seems to be what the big boss at Ferrari would want to tell you in case you are one of those electric freaks hoping for a battery-run sports car. For, Ferrari won’t have an electric avatar. Not at least in the near future.
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemelo believes that no one will get to see a Ferrari electric. He has been quoted as saying:
“I don’t believe in electric cars, because I don’t think they represent an important step forward for pollution or CO2 or the environment. But, we are working very, very hard on the hybrid Ferrari. This should be the future, and I hope in a couple of years you can see it”.
So may be, a hybrid version is on the cards. The Prancing Horse badge may never adorn an electric variant, but a hybrid version is the closest we can get to.
Don’t believe us? See for yourself as Montezemelo talks to folks at Engadget here. Don’t ever dream of an electric Ferrari!
