Celebrity crusader Lily Tomlin is on a life saving mission. With protection of elephants high on the agenda, Tomlin is now out lending her voice for a documentary titled Elephants and Man: A Litany of Tragedy. She will be speaking at the Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood on January 20, 2011. Considering that Tomlin had earlier worked a lot for the elephants and their free life, her latest venture is seen as lending some extra celebrity support that will aid the life of the pachyderm.
If you haven’t heard, renowned actress, comedian, writer and producer Tomlin had earlier participated in campaigns spread across Seattle, Los Angeles, and Dallas in her bid to free elephants from zoos.
The documentary Elephants and Man: A Litany of Tragedy is being produced by Voice for the Animals (VFTA) Foundation’s Melya Kaplan. The film is expected to look at the history of elephants in captivity. It is also expected to examine various aspects such as the suffering and cruelty that elephants are subjected to.
Tomlin is all excited about the project and believes that it will “introduce and educate people to the barbaric and inhumane practice of keeping elephants captive in zoos.”
We know you are looking forward to the film. Here’s the first part of the documentary. Let us know what you feel about it.
