Look what green aesthetics can bring to our highways and neighborhood streets! What you see in the picture alongside is the latest innovation that has been born out of the marriage of two technology behemoths. Panasonic and Sanyo have joined hands to unveil the new EVERLEDS Lithium-ion Solar Street Light. Combining solar cells and lithium-ion batteries, the new solar street light comes about as a unique experiment in refined design.
The new Solar Street light comes powered by Sanyo’s HIT solar cells – single crystal hybrid type solar cells with the highest-class conversion efficiency in the world and a thin integrated solar cells and storage unit using Sanyo’s lithium-ion batteries, say the guys at FEGizmos.
The EVERLEDS Lithium-ion Solar Street Light boasts of electricity generated from solar energy by the high efficiency solar cells and stored in the lithium-ion batteries that have been placed at the rear of the panel.
Significant is the fact that this can also be used to power high efficiency LED lights that have been incorporated in the system. The charge would stay for around 15 hours during the night.
The design of the EVERLEDS Lithium-ion Solar Street Light is in such a way that comes about as small and refined, is lead-free , making it easy on the planet. Panasonic Electric Works will bring to our midst two different versions of the Lithium-ion Solar Street Light by the start of next year.
Initially the launch would be a Japan only affair, but let’s expect the EVERLEDS Lithium-ion Solar Street Light to reach our shores too. Wouldn’t you like to have them in your park and bylanes too?
